This week’s topic was book covers with a design element of our choice. In looking through covers to get an idea of what I might want to do, I noticed a trend: covers that show women from behind. So here, for no particular reason other than that I saw a pattern, are ten books I want to read that have covers that depict women from behind.
My Cousin Rachel
The Water Cure
A Pale View of Hills
Things That Happened Before the Earthquake
The Goddesses
Maybe In Another Life
Those Who Leave and Those Who Stay
Black Apple
The Gardens of Consolation
Out of Darkness

What an interesting choice of covers. How easy was it to find 10 covers that fit your criteria?

Easier than I thought it would be, honestly! At first I had thought of books with just individual body parts on them (legs, back, hands, and so on) but then noticed this pattern jumping out at me!

I know this trend is totally overdone, but I actually really like these kinds of covers! I like people on book covers, just not seeing their whole faces, so these covers work well for me. They’re very popular in the genres I read too (namely, historical fiction and mysteries/thrillers). Great list.
Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!

I don’t mind it! Just noticed it was a trend and thought it was interesting, I don’t know that I would have thought of it as one before I started looking for it!
