Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly linkup of book bloggers hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl! This week, we’re talking about the books we’ll be reading this season! As usual, I have an eclectic mix of things on deck, including literary fiction, a joint biography of two prominent women, and a holiday romance. It’s likely I’ll have book club reads that will get added in here too, as long as they’re written by women!
Shanghailanders: This recently-published literary fiction tells the story of a Shanghai family backwards, which I find intriguing!
The Best of Everything: This book was recommended so enthusiastically by Maris Kreizman that I’m going to give it a shot.
Romantic Outlaws: A dual biography, of Mary Shelley and her mother Mary Wollstonecraft, that has been well-reviewed and seems very up my alley.
You Should Have Known: This one seems domestic thriller-y, not usually my genre of choice, but it’s gotten good feedback and it will be a good one to follow a big giant biography.
Death on the Nile: I really enjoyed my first Agatha Christie and I’m looking forward to reading her again!
There But For The: Ali Smith is one of those authors I’ve been meaning to read eventually and this seems like it will be interesting!
Royal Holiday: This romance is very loosely based on Meghan Markle’s mom, Doria Ragland, and I could use a light read for the festive season.
Oligarchy: I am always a sucker for a boarding school book.
Black Narcissus: Rumer Godden is one of those authors that I hear about as a “the real ones know” type so I’m looking forward to finally reading her work!
Future Home of the Living God: I’ve been eager to get back to Louise Erdrich and decided that this dystopian story will be my second one of hers that I’ll be reading!
