Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly linkup of book bloggers hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl! This week, we’re highlighting our spring to-read lists! I’ve just finally started on the last of the books on my winter TBR post, so it’s perfect timing!
The Parable of the Sower: Octavia Spencer is one of the authors I’m most embarrassed about not having read yet (her work sounds so very much up my alley!) so I’m super excited to finally read this.
The King’s Curse: Can’t stop, won’t stop with trashy Philippa Gregory Tudor historical fiction (this one’s about Margaret Pole).
A Great Improvisation: Maybe it’s the boring way it was covered in school, but the American Revolution remains a time period I don’t often engage with. I’m hoping this history, about Benjamin Franklin’s time in France to drum up support for the war, will be something I get into!
Mornings in Jenin: This book has been on my list to read since way before current events kicked off, but feels even more relevant now.
A Darker Shade of Magic: I’ve never read V.E. Schwab but it seems like people really like her stuff so I’m going to see for myself.
Don’t Worry It Gets Worse: I have honestly probably aged out of this book about being a 20something, but I picked it up ages ago because I loved Alida’s tumblr and it’s worth a try!
Conversations with Friends: Another author I can’t believe I haven’t read yet!
The Story of A New Name: I read the first in the Neopolitan novels a couple years ago now and I’m curious to see how this book lands for me after liking the last one okay but not as much as I thought I would.
The Good Girls Revolt: My knowledge of the women’s liberation movement is spotty at best, but I’ve heard good things about this chronicle of female employees of Newsweek launching a class-action lawsuit to fight for their rights.
On Beauty: I quite enjoyed White Teeth and am looking forward to reading more Zadie Smith!
