Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly linkup of book bloggers hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl! This week we’re highlighting our spring reading schedule! As usual, I have quite a mix…some suspense, some nonfiction, and a surprising amount of young adult.

Loving: About the Supreme Court case that legalized interracial marriage, I realized I don’t actually know much about it besides what we studied in Constitutional Law.
The Witch: Marie Ndiaye is an author I’ve long been interested in reading so the new English translation of one of her books seems like the perfect time to dive in!
Mexican Gothic: Another writer I’ve been meaning to read for quite a while, and I do enjoy some gothic vibes so I think this will be a good place to start.
The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian: I know Sherman Alexie is problematic, but this book was very lauded and I do still want to read it.
The Woman Warrior: This memoir about growing up as the child of Chinese immigrants apparently weaves in elements of Chinese folklore and I do love folklore.
The Library of Flowers: This seems like the sort of book I will either find really engaging or irritatingly sentimental, so here’s hoping for the former!
I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter: I have noticed that my tastes are trending away from young adult books the last few years so this might be good or it might not go well at all. This was a National Book Award finalist so I’m hoping it’s the former!
Everything Everything: See above re young adult books, which is actually inspiring me to go through my list and start eliminating some of the ones I wasn’t especially excited to read to begin with. I do remember this being VERY trendy around the book internet when I first started blogging!
Bird of Paradise: I’m interested to see how this works for me given that I’ve been getting steadily less interested in family history memoirs, so this could be the end of a very weak stretch of books for me.
Girl Woman Other: I remember this tying with Margaret Atwood’s Handmaid’s Tale sequel to win the Booker Prize and a lot of people being mad because they thought this was clearly the superior book and should have won outright so I have been very excited to read this for a while!
